The VS1002 MP3 IC from VLSI is a great little MP3 decoder. However, it takes some noticeable external circuitry to get it up and running. With this breakout board from Sparkfun BOB-00519, you can get up and rocking out in an afternoon! Once you've gotten proof of concept on breadboard - layout your own PCB with the bare VS1002 IC.
